Chris Nizolek
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Chris Nizolek, one of our longtime Adult Circulation staff members. Our thoughts and love go out to Chris's family at this difficult time.
Christine Mary Nizolek (1943 - 2018)
Christine Mary Nizolek passed away October 20, 2018 at Colombia Presbyterian Hospital, NYC, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 10, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Jean and Frank Nizolek, who after WWII settled in Stamford, CT.
As a young adult Christine was very active with the "Young Dems" here in town and was elected by District 2 to serve as its City Representative. Chris worked for Paper Novelty, CBS Laboratories, GTE (Legal Dept.) and, until her passing, at the front desk of the Perrot Public Library in Old Greenwich. She was a true bibliophile.
She is survived by her three sisters; Mary Ann Greene (Fred), Diane Nizolek, and Barbara Corniello and her nieces and nephews; Fred Greene IV, Christopher Greene (Julie), Nicole Vitti, Mark Vitti (Jessica), Matthew Vitti (Megan) and Lauren Love (Rich). Chris cherished in recent years the birth of her two great-nieces; Caroline Grace Greene and Nora Margaret Love.
In addition to her family Christine loved and cared for many cats, nature's creatures and had a deep devotion to St. Francis of Assisi and St. Therese of Lisieux.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement R.C. Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. The interment will follow mass at St. John Cemetery in Darien, CT and will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Christine's name may be made to PitterPatter Feline Rescue, 23 Mead St., Stamford, CT 06907, Friends of Felines @ Just Cats, 1029 E. Main St., Stamford, CT 06902 or Trinity Catholic H.S., 926 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT 06905.

Upcoming Event: Family Storytelling Concert featuring Antonio Rocha
Perrot Memorial Library is proud to present an afternoon of storytelling in memory of our beloved Children's Librarians, Kate McClelland ("Mrs. Mac") and Kathy Krasniewicz ("Mrs. K"). Those who knew Kate and Kathy know how much storytelling was a part of their lives and how they used it to enchant and educate the youth of our community.
We are delighted that storyteller and mime Antonio Rocha will be joining us for this special annual family event, which will be held in Perrot's Children's Wing on Sunday, November 4th, 2018, at 2 PM.
Antonio Rocha is an award-winning storyteller whose unique fusion of mime and spoken word has made him a featured teller in the nation's premier storytelling events. With his tenor voice, realistic sound effects, and mesmerizing moves, Antonio is sure to tickle your funny bone and delight your soul.
This free family event is recommended for families with children ages 5 and up. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
