The first thing you may want to investigate is whether or not you will need a passport. Go to http://www.travel.state.gov/ where you will find out everything you need to know about passports and visas, including the new passport card and more.
There are several currency converter websites out there-- one that’s popular is http://www.oanda.com/.
You may also want to visit a comprehensive website for travel, such as http://www.fodors.com/ or http://www.frommers.com/. These sites get you all kinds of information: hotels, restaurants, what to do, where to go, and how to plan your own itinerary.
